New Energy Farms (NEF) and Syngenta announce that, from today, NEF is taking sole responsibility for the commercialisation of NEF’s sugarcane planting technology, CEEDS, in Brazil. NEF will have the full benefit of the development progress made during its collaboration with Syngenta over the last 6 years for CEEDS in Brazil, where the technology was named Emerald. Syngenta and NEF have now successfully completed the transition to the commercial development being controlled by NEF. NEF will shortly commence discussions on partnering plans for commercialisation in Brazil thorough contacts with Mills and other interested parties.

New Energy Farms (NEF)

New Energy Farms (NEF) has developed CEEDS technology, which has so far been patented in 37 countries with others pending. CEEDS is an ‘artificial seed’ system for crops that do not produce conventional seeds such as sugarcane. CEEDS  has many benefits including improved health, faster multiplication, lower planting volumes and weight, resulting in more efficient and faster planting. The CEEDS system is expected to have a much lower environmental footprint than conventional planting approaches and should improve soil health. NEF is a small privately held dedicated team of plant scientists based in Canada and the UK focused on improvements in a wide range of vegetatively multiplied crops.
